French Press Coffee Brewing Instructions
Ingredients and Equipment
Freshly roasted coffee beans
Soft, clean water - We recommend spring water
French press coffee maker
Coffee Burr grinder that has a setting for French Press
Kitchen scale with timer and measures in grams
Instructions
Heat Water: Heat water to 200-205°F (93-96°C).
Grind Coffee: Grind coffee beans to a coarse grind size, similar to sea salt.
Measure Coffee: Use a coffee to water ratio of 1:15 to 1:17. For example, for a 34 oz (1005 ml) French press, use approximately 60 grams of coffee.
Add Coffee and Water: Add the ground coffee to the French press. Pour a small amount of hot water over the grounds to saturate them (the "bloom"). Wait 30 seconds. Then, pour the remaining hot water over the grounds.
Steep: Place the lid on the French press, but do not plunge. Steep for 4 minutes.
Plunge: Slowly and gently press the plunger down.
Serve Immediately: Pour the coffee into cups and enjoy.

Filters (paper, cloth, metal) *material of filter will affect the taste
Instructions
Heat Water: Heat water to 195-205°F (90-96°C).
Grind Coffee: Grind coffee beans to a medium-coarse grind size, similar to coarse sand.
Prepare Filter: Place the paper filter in the pour over or Chemex and rinse it with hot water. This removes any paper taste and preheats the brewer. Discard the rinse water.
Measure Coffee: Use a coffee to water ratio of 1:15 to 1:17. For example, for 500 ml of water, use approximately 30 grams of coffee.
Add Coffee: Add the ground coffee to the filter.
First Pour (Bloom): Pour a small amount of hot water over the grounds to saturate them (the "bloom"). Wait 30-45 seconds.
Remaining Pour: Slowly and evenly pour the remaining hot water over the grounds in a circular motion. Maintain a consistent water level.
Brew Time: Total brew time should be between 3-4 minutes.
Serve Immediately: Remove the filter and pour the coffee into cups and enjoy.

Instructions
Heat Water: Heat water to 195-205°F (90-96°C).
Grind Coffee: Grind coffee beans to a medium grind size, similar to table salt.
Prepare Filter: Place the filter in the drip coffee maker basket.
Measure Coffee: Use a coffee to water ratio of 1:16 to 1:18. For example, for 1000 ml of water, use approximately 55-62 grams of coffee.
Add Coffee: Add the ground coffee to the filter.
Start Brewing: Start the drip coffee maker.
Brew Time: Allow the coffee to brew until the water reservoir is empty.
Serve Immediately: Pour the coffee into cups and enjoy.

Kitchen scale with timer and measures in grams
Instructions
Heat Water: Heat water to 175-185°F (80-85°C).
Grind Coffee: Grind coffee beans to a fine to medium-fine grind size, similar to table salt but slightly finer.
Prepare AeroPress: Place a paper or metal filter in the AeroPress cap and rinse it with hot water. This removes any paper taste and preheats the brewer. Discard the rinse water. Attach the cap to the brewing chamber.
Measure Coffee: Use a coffee to water ratio of 1:14 to 1:16. For example, for 200 ml of water, use approximately 12-14 grams of coffee.
Add Coffee: Add the ground coffee to the AeroPress chamber.
Add Water: Pour the hot water over the grounds.
Stir: Stir the coffee and water mixture for about 10 seconds.
Insert Plunger: Insert the plunger and gently press down.
Press: Slowly and steadily press the plunger down until you hear a hissing sound.
Serve Immediately: Pour the coffee into cups and enjoy.

Instructions
Heat Water: Ensure the espresso machine's water is heated to 195-205°F (90-96°C).
Grind Coffee: Grind coffee beans to a fine grind size, similar to powdered sugar.
Measure Coffee: Use a coffee to water ratio of 1:2 to 1:3. For a double shot, use approximately 18-21 grams of coffee.
Distribute Coffee: Distribute the ground coffee evenly in the portafilter basket.
Tamp Coffee: Tamp the coffee grounds with a pressure of approximately 30 pounds (13.6 kg).
Brew: Insert the portafilter into the espresso machine and start the brewing process.
Extraction Time: Aim for an extraction time of 25-30 seconds for a double shot.
Serve Immediately: Pour the espresso into cups and enjoy.

Nut milk bag or large fine mesh strainer (for filter bag method)
Instructions
Grind Coffee: Grind coffee beans to a coarse grind size, similar to French press.
Measure Coffee: Use a coffee to water ratio of 1:8 to 1:10. For example, for 1 liter (about 34 oz) of water, use approximately 100-125 grams of coffee.
Combine Coffee and Water:
Standard Method: Add the ground coffee to the jar or container. Pour the water over the coffee grounds.
Filter Bag Method: Place the ground coffee into a nut milk bag or large fine mesh strainer. Place the bag into a large jar or pitcher and add water.
Stir: Gently stir the mixture to ensure all grounds are saturated. (Skip this step for filter bag method)
Steep: Cover the jar and let it steep at room temperature for 12-24 hours. For a stronger brew, steep for the longer duration.
Filter:
Standard Method: After steeping, filter the coffee. Place a filter over another container or pitcher and slowly pour the coffee through it. Discard the used coffee grounds.
Filter Bag Method: Simply remove the filter bag and discard the grounds.
Storage: Store the cold brew concentrate in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
