Seriously Sustainable.
We don’t cut corners when it comes to protecting our planet (and our people!).
Three Oaks Roasting Co. understands that producing coffee is a high-resource process, and we’re committed to providing an ethical and equitable environment from the first bean to the final brew.
01.
Sourcing
We source our beans exclusively from ethical partners and producers that strive to improve and use sustainable farming practices.
02. Roasting
We never roast more than we need, reducing waste and ensuring freshness. Our coffee never sits on the shelf.
03.
Packaging
We use packaging that is biodegradable and filled to order.
The foundation of our packaging aligns with the sustainability pillar of Three Oaks Roasting Co., We found a partner, MTPAK, that uses biodegradable packaging material that exceeds global sustainability standards. We chose our bags to be made from polylactic acid (PLA), a bioplastic recognized for being flexible and for having a long shelf life. It is made from starches derived from corn sugar, potatoes, and sugar cane. PLA packaging can take as little as 90 days to decompose in a controlled composting environment.
Controlled composting environments are typically found at industrial or commercial composting facilities. You can search online for "commercial composting facilities near me" or contact your local waste management authority for information on available services in your area.
